Daniel Island Dental Care

Clean teeth, fresh breath, and a healthy smile!

In addition to at-home dental care, routine dental cleanings are an important part of wellness care and good oral health. As with humans, plaque and tartar buildup can lead to malodorous breath, gum disease, tooth decay, and potential internal medical issues. Although each pet’s individual needs will vary, we generally recommend annual professional cleanings starting at age 3.

Dental cleanings are offered at our hospital daily as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. Under the supervision of a doctor, our licensed veterinary technicians radiograph, scale, and polish each tooth. Suspicious teeth are reviewed by a veterinarian and extracted if necessary. Consistent at-home dental care and routine professional cleanings are the winning combination for the prevention of gingivitis and periodontal disease!
